Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the valve manufacturing industry. The candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to ensure timely delivery while maintaining quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage production schedules in line with order requirements.

Coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams to ensure a smooth workflow.

Optimize resource allocation and minimize downtime.

Monitor inventory levels and ensure the availability of raw materials.

Analyze production performance and recommend process improvements.

Ensure adherence to API Q1 standards and compliance requirements.

Utilize AutoCAD for reviewing drawings and layouts.

Prepare production reports and maintain documentation using MS Office.

Collaborate with quality control to address production-related issues.

Report to the Operations Manager through daily and weekly reports.

Maintain inventory stock and keep records of machining tools (CNC & Conventional).

Prepare Job Route Sheets and coordinate with the Production Supervisor & teams.

Coordinate with the Maintenance team regarding spare parts for each machine.

Support during Internal and External Audits
Assist the QA/QC team in providing production-related records and traceability documentation during API Q1 and customer audits.

Production Traceability & Documentation Control
Maintain accurate traceability for each Sales Order (SO), including batch identification, materials used, process steps, and inspection status.

Coordinate with Stores & Procurement on Material Planning
Ensure timely material requisition aligned with production needs and lead times, especially for critical items such as forgings, castings, and special fasteners.

KPI Monitoring & Reporting
Track and report KPIs such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), Production Efficiency, and WIP (Work In Progress).

Support in CPAR (Corrective and Preventive Action Reports)
Collaborate with QA for investigating non-conformities and implementing corrective actions related to production.

Familiarity with Routing Sheets, BOM, and WPS
Understand and interpret Bill of Materials, and Job Route Sheets.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or 5S Implementation
Participation in continuous improvement programs, 5S, or lean initiatives to improve shop floor efficiency and reduce waste.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 2 years in production planning (preferably in valve manufacturing).

Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Certifications: Knowledge of API Q1 requirements is preferred.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Other: Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Additional Qualifications (Optional)

Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other QMS
Especially useful if the candidate comes from a non-valve background but has experience in a structured quality system.

Experience with ERP Modules
Experience in ERP modules related to production planning, material control, or shop floor scheduling (such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
