Job description

Wego is the most popular travel search engine in the Middle East and among the leading players in online travel in Southeast Asia. Dual-headquartered in Singapore and Dubai, Wego receives over half a million travel search requests per day through its website and iOS and Android mobile apps.

THE ROLE

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the product strategy, development, optimization, and growth of the allocated product across all markets where Wego operates. Our goal is to be the best-in-class travel super app in MENA and globally, serving millions of daily active users.

Reporting directly to the VP of Product, you will define our product strategy in this area and lead cross-functional teams building these solutions.

You will identify customer pain points, set objectives, and propose solutions that delight users. You will coordinate with internal stakeholders and track performance against your objectives.

You will collaborate with technology, product, marketing, and commercial teams to operationalize your products.

This is a strategic role given the rising demand in the current travel industry climate, especially amidst the 'revenge travel' trend—an exciting time to be involved.

We expect product managers to act as the 'CEO of their product,' bridging technology, design, commercial, marketing, and operations teams.

If you enjoy creating insights-driven products, guiding their development, connecting the dots to discover trends, and working in a casual startup environment, we invite you to join our product team.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Product Strategy: Analyze products across markets, assess competition, and identify opportunities.
  • Advanced Analytics & Quantitative Trading Mindset: Apply predictive modeling, forecasting, dynamic pricing, and algorithmic decision-making to inform product initiatives. Use rapid experimentation, backtesting, and market microstructure insights to refine performance. Analyze large datasets to uncover patterns and insights.
  • Product Analytics: Analyze funnel conversions, A/B test results, and feature performance. Use data to generate actionable insights and product recommendations through cohort analyses, segmentation, and trend analysis.
  • Commercial Acumen: Understand e-commerce and m-commerce metrics, unit economics, and commercial concepts.
  • Customer-Driven Research & Design Thinking: Make decisions based on data, evidence, and user insights.
  • Ownership: Document product specs, develop testing criteria, monitor progress, and ensure outcomes post-launch. Proactively resolve issues and unblock teams.
  • Communication Skills: Clearly explain complex concepts to diverse stakeholders, challenge norms, and influence outcomes effectively.
  • Product Roadmaps & Project Management: Develop roadmaps, manage projects, coordinate with stakeholders, and mitigate risks.
  • Technology Awareness: Stay updated on new technologies to enhance user experience and advocate for new features.
  • Mindset Must-Haves: First Principles Thinking, Growth Mindset, Systems Thinking, Ownership Mentality, and being a self-starter.
