Product Development & Engineering Manager (R&D) - Furniture Manufacturing

Goodwood Home is one of Indonesia’s leading furniture manufacturers, exporting premium teak furniture worldwide. With over 200 employees and a legacy of craftsmanship, we’re entering a new era of growth and innovation.

We’re now seeking a Product Development & Engineering Manager to take ownership of our technical product development process and lead the next generation of iconic designs.

What You’ll Do:

1. Own and manage all technical aspects of product development, from initial concept to production readiness.
2. Create and review technical drawings, BOMs, and costing for all new and existing products.
3. Ensure production feasibility of all furniture designs in collaboration with our factory and suppliers.
4. Standardize and document product specifications, materials, and assembly processes.
5. Support our design and sales team by translating concepts into manufacturable products.
6. Lead a small team of draftsmen, engineers, and junior developers to deliver on tight timelines.
7. Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive manufacturing efficiency through smarter engineering.

What We’re Looking For:

1. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in product engineering or R&D in the furniture industry as a manager (hard requirement).
2. Strong technical drawing skills (AutoCAD or equivalent required).
3. Proven experience in costing and developing BOMs.
4. Familiarity with wood materials, joinery techniques, hardware, and finishing.
5. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
6. Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
7. Experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferably export-focused).
