Job description

As part of the design team, this role leads the end-to-end development of Indigo Luna’s products—from initial sampling through to production—ensuring each garment meets our quality, sustainability, fit, and brand standards. This hybrid position combines creative development coordination with deep technical expertise in garment construction and fit, supporting the brand’s commitment to intentional design and ethical production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with designers to translate creative concepts into feasible, cost-effective final garments.
  • Develop and manage detailed technical packs (tech packs), including specifications for fabric, trims, fit, construction, and finishing.
  • Own the development calendar and manage all stages of the critical path—sample approvals, BOMs, costings, and production handover.
  • Source and coordinate with ethical suppliers, manufacturers, and mills to ensure high-quality, sustainable materials and practices.
  • Collaborate to negotiate garment costings with manufacturers, aligning with buying targets and final retail pricing.
  • Lead fit sessions with designers; document and communicate clear, actionable feedback to manufacturers and sampling teams.
  • Approve samples, size specs, and grading to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with Indigo Luna’s brand fit.
  • Partner with the production and QC teams to minimize revisions and ensure a smooth transition to bulk production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical or fit issues early, ensuring production feasibility and on-time delivery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records throughout the development cycle to ensure traceability and consistency.

  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern development, fit, and fabric performance.
  • Experience creating and managing comprehensive tech packs and garment specs. • Clear and professional communicator, confident in liaising with offshore manufacturers and internal teams.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple styles and priorities simultaneously. • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. • Values-led, with a commitment to ethical sourcing, sustainability, and slow fashion principles.
  • Flexible and adaptable—able to work across creative, technical, and production conversations with ease.

Reports To: Design Manager

Works Closely With: Design, Buying, Production, QC, and External Suppliers

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role within the apparel industry, preferably in a product development or technical capacity.
  • Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, or a related field preferred. • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and tech pack creation tools.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable materials and ethical production practices. • Experience working with manufacturers and navigating production timelines. • Fluent in written and spoken English.
