Job description

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Sourcing & Vendor Management
  • Source, evaluate, and select vendors/manufacturers in China that meet the criteria (price, quality, capacity, certification, etc.).
  • Conduct due diligence (e.g., company legality check, reputation, factory audit, or references). Build and maintain good relationships with Chinese vendors, including MoU or contract negotiations.
  • Understand Chinese business culture (e.g., importance of guanxi/networking, indirect communication, etc.).

2. Negotiation & Purchase

  • Negotiate prices, INCOTERMS (e.g., FOB, CIF), payment methods (LC, T/T, etc.), and delivery terms.
  • Ensure competitive pricing by comparing multiple vendors.
  • Manage minimum order quantity (MOQ) which is generally high in China.

3. Logistics & Customs Clearance

  • Coordinate with forwarder/logistics for shipment from China (sea/air).
  • Ensure the completeness of export-import documents (e.g., commercial invoice, packing list, COO, BL/AWB).
  • Understand customs regulations in China and destination countries (e.g., import tariffs, product restrictions).

4. Documentation & Administration

  • Create purchase orders (PO), track orders, and update inventory.
  • Handle tax documents (e.g., PPh 22 import, VAT) and bookkeeping.

Required Skills:

  • Mandarin (a plus, especially for direct communication).
  • Reputable university education, minimum GPA 3.0.
  • Understanding of international contract law and China's e-commerce platforms.
  • Data analysis skills for comparing prices and evaluating vendor performance.
