Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd in Batam, Indonesia is seeking a Principal Hookup & Commission Tech who will lead and coordinate the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities. You will manage equipment, tools, and spares, ensuring smooth execution, and work autonomously within established Fab procedures while guiding a team to meet project timelines.

The role requires a high school graduate with 6+ years on oil and gas construction projects, experience with FAT of SPS and SURF preferred,

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• 6+ years of experience in Oil and Gas construction projects.
• Preferably ex-PTMI with FAT of SPS and SURF; good teamwork skills with coordination capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the register of equipment, tools, and test devices to support pre-commissioning/commissioning execution.
• Responsible for equipment, tool, and spares utilization and allocation for pre-commissioning/commissioning activities.
• Liaise with procurement and commissioning engineering team for identification and procurement of materials and equipment for pre-commissioning.

The Principal Hookup & Commission Tech may work autonomously within established Hook Up & Commissioning (Fab) procedures and practices. They act as a lead, coordinating the work of others. The Principal Hookup & Commission Tech proposes improvements to processes and methods within the Hook Up & Commissioning (Fab) discipline.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Maintain the register of equipment, tools, and test devices including consumables materials to support the smooth running during project pre-commissioning/commissioning execution
• Responsible for equipment, tool, and spares utilization and allocation for the pre-commissioning/commissioning activities on the project
• Liaise with the procurement and commissioning engineering team for identification and procurement of all material and equipment for pre-commissioning

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education

• High School Graduate
• 6+ years of experience in Oil and gas construction projects
• Preferably ex-PTMI who have been involved in FAT of SPS and SURF
