Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, checklists, and documentation for hook-up and commissioning activities.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and procedures.
• Provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders on milestones and deviations.
• Lead hook-up and commissioning activities following schedules, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Conduct detailed inspections and tests to verify system integrity and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
• Support project teams during planning and execution phases.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and contractual requirements.
• Participate in project reviews to provide insights for process improvements.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth execution.

Job Overview

The Hook Up & Commission Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of Hook Up & Commissioning (Fab) and, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward Hook Up & Commissioning (Fab) problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Hook Up & Commission Engineer understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, checklists, and documentation to capture all relevant activities, observations, and outcomes throughout the hook-up and commissioning process
• Maintain accurate records of equipment and system inspections, testing results, and commissioning procedures
• Provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders, highlighting any significant milestones, challenges, or deviations from project plans
• Execute hook-up and commissioning activities on assigned projects, following project schedules, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Conduct detailed inspections and tests to verify the integrity and functionality of installed systems and equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hook-up and commissioning activities in a timely manner
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams during the planning and execution phases

• Oversee and manage all hook-up and commissioning activities by project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or relevant field)
• 5 years of experience in hook-up and commissioning activities within the EPCI industry
• Proficient knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., API, ASME, IEC, NEC)
• Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Familiarity with various systems and equipment involved in offshore and onshore installations (e.g., communication systems, control systems, HVAC, power generation, etc.)
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders
• Proactive, adaptable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Certified in relevant safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, HSE) is preferred
