Job summary

Eterna, LLC is establishing a new sodium-ion battery manufacturing operation in Batam, Indonesia. We seek a hands-on Plant/Manufacturing Operations Manager to own day-to-day site performance, coordinate logistics, and bridge factory floor activities with group leadership.

The role requires an engineering mindset, 3+ years in operations/manufacturing, and fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Location is Batam with a strong onsite presence and a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Industrial Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in operations, project management, manufacturing, or related field.
• Based in Batam or willing to relocate for onsite-heavy hybrid role.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia with strong communication skills.
• High initiative and ownership; capable of driving change on the ground.

• Coordinate inbound shipments and logistics to keep materials and equipment on schedule.
• Track shipments, liaise with vendors, freight forwarders, and authorities.

• Support ramp-up and improve on-floor operational processes.
• Monitor operations, identify bottlenecks, and resolve issues quickly.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on status and blockers.

About the Company

We are a sodium-ion battery manufacturer within the Tynergy Tech Group, standing up a new manufacturing operation in Batam, Indonesia. As production kicks off, we're building a small, capable team on the ground to bring the facility online and keep it running smoothly.

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Plant / Manufacturing Operations Manager to be our eyes and ears in Batam as our manufacturing operation gets off the ground. This is a do-it-all role: you'll connect the factory floor with group management, keep shipments and logistics moving, and make sure the day-to-day runs without a hitch. It's a hybrid role with a heavy onsite presence in Batam, so we need someone who takes real ownership, communicates clearly in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, and brings an engineering mindset to solving problems on the ground.

What You’ll Do

Act as the on-the-ground point person in Batam, connecting the factory floor, suppliers, and group management.

Coordinate inbound shipments and logistics so materials and equipment arrive on time and manufacturing stays on schedule.

Track and follow up on shipments, liaising with vendors, freight forwarders, and relevant authorities (customs, port, local agencies).

Communicate proactively between stakeholders, surfacing risks early and keeping everyone aligned.

Support the manufacturing ramp-up, helping set up and improve operational processes on the floor.

Monitor operations, spot bottlenecks, and take the initiative to resolve issues quickly.

Keep management informed with clear, regular updates on status, progress, and blockers.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with Industrial Engineering preferred (Electrical or Mechanical/Machinery also welcome).

Minimum 3 years of experience in operations, project management, manufacturing, or a related field.

Based in Batam, or willing to relocate to Batam for an onsite-heavy hybrid role.

Fluent in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, with excellent written and verbal communication.

High initiative and ownership; comfortable being the person who makes things happen on the ground.

Strong coordination and stakeholder-management skills across technical and non-technical people.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in manufacturing, plant operations, or supply chain / logistics, ideally in a facility ramp-up or greenfield setting.

Leadership or project-management experience.

Mandarin (Chinese) is a strong plus for liaising with equipment vendors and technical partners.

Familiarity with battery, electronics, or energy-sector manufacturing.

Experience with customs, freight forwarding, or import/export processes.
