Production Management
- Oversee daily production processes to meet customer demand, ensuring adherence to quality and cost objectives.
- Collaborate with production teams to consistently achieve quality and production targets.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Ensure all dairy products meet company quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA).
- Implement and enforce strict hygiene, sanitation, and food safety protocols throughout the plant.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, coach, and mentor the production team, fostering a positive and safety-focused work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and create development plans to enhance team capabilities and productivity.
Safety and Risk Management
- Establish and enforce safety protocols to minimize workplace injuries and ensure OSHA compliance.
- Conduct regular safety audits, policy reviews, and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
- Drive process and operational improvements through initiatives leveraging methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
- Identify and eliminate inefficiencies to enhance plant performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee improvement projects and performance metrics to sustain operational excellence.
Financial and Budgetary Management
- Develop and manage the plants budget, controlling costs related to labor, materials, production, and maintenance.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to guide data-driven decisions and improve profitability.
Equipment and Facility Maintenance
- Ensure optimal performance of production equipment through preventive maintenance and minimal downtime.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team and external vendors for repairs, upgrades, and installations.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Human Resources teams to ensure seamless operations.
Requirement
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in dairy plant management, with at least 5 years in a Plant Manager role within a dairy or similar food manufacturing environment.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Advanced degrees or certifications in dairy manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing are highly desirable.
Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of dairy manufacturing processes, equipment, quality assurance standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HACCP, GMP, OSHA, FDA).
Leadership Skills:
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop teams in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Communication:
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with a strong capacity to collaborate across departments and engage with all levels of management.
