An established international school is seeking a passionate Physical Education Teacher to inspire students through engaging lessons and activities. Physical Education (P.E.) Teacher plays a vital role in promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for health and well-being among students in an international school setting. Through structured physical activities, sports, and movement-based learning, the P.E. teacher fosters the holistic development of students, supporting their physical, mental, and social growth in a multicultural environment.
1.Teaching and Lesson-Planning:
○Develop and deliver engaging P.E. lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum (Cambridge).
○Teach a variety of sports, fitness activities, and movement skills suitable for different age groups and abilities.
○Promote an appreciation for lifelong physical activity and healthy habits.
2.Student Development and wellbeing
○Help students improve their motor skills, coordination, strength, and endurance.
○Encourage teamwork, leadership, and good sportsmanship.
○Foster self-confidence and resilience through physical challenges and goal-setting.
3. Behavioral and Emotional Support
○Design lessons that accommodate students of all backgrounds, skill levels, and abilities.
○Adapted activities for students with special educational needs (SEN) or physical limitations.
○Incorporate culturally diverse sports and movement activities to reflect the international environment.
4. Safety and Injury Prevention:
○ Ensure a safe and structured environment for all physical activities.
○Teach students proper warm-up, stretching, and injury prevention techniques.
○Maintain first aid and emergency protocols during sports activities.
5.Extracurricular & School Events:
○Organize and lead sports days, tournaments, inter-school competitions, and extracurricular clubs.
○Participate in whole-school activities, such as international cultural sports events and wellness programs.
○Motivate students to engage in after-school sports and recreational fitness activities.
6.Assessment & Progress Monitoring:
○Evaluate students' performance, participation, and skill development.
○Provide feedback on strengths and areas for improvement.
○Keep records of student progress and communicate with parents and school staff as needed.
7.Collaboration with School Staff & Community:
○Work closely with classroom teachers to integrate physical education with academic subjects.
○Collaborate with school counselors, nurses, and SEN staff to support students' overall well-being.
○Promote healthy lifestyle initiatives within the school community.
8.Professional Development:
○Stay updated on current best practices in P.E. and sports education.
○Participate in training, workshops, and conferences related to fitness, health, and international curricula.
○Incorporate new technologies (e.g., fitness trackers, virtual coaching tools) to enhance student engagement.
Qualifications and Experience:
●Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
●Teaching certification or license (e.g., PGCE, QTS, Teaching Diploma, or equivalent) relevant to P.E. instruction (preferred).
●Additional certifications in coaching, first aid, CPR, or sports injury management (preferred).
●Having experience working with SEN students will be an advantage.
●Minimum 2 work references from previous employers.
●Cambridge, MAP, and WIDA experience a plus.
●Police record check.
●Proficiency in the English language.
●Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for young learners.
●Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
●Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
●Passion for teaching and a commitment to providing quality education to young learners.
●Proficient computer skills.
