Job description

Overview

We are seeking a candidate for a new position focused on sourcing and technical support for PCBs at our facilities in Malaysia and Indonesia. Preference will be given to candidates residing in Malaysia or Indonesia, with the role based in their respective country.

The PCB Sourcing Engineer develops and implements sourcing strategies for printed circuit board (PCB) components and materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. They also manage supplier relationships and mitigate risks. With several years of PCB manufacturing experience and a thorough understanding of PCB processing from start to finish, the PCB Sourcing Engineer acts as a liaison between the company’s PCB suppliers and our facilities. They help resolve Engineering Questions (EQs) promptly and are key team members for PCB quality concerns.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and qualify suppliers for PCB fabrication and raw materials. Manage supplier development, onboarding, and conduct supplier audits and evaluations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for EQ resolution on new parts and provide technical support to engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers. Interpret engineering drawings and BOMs, understand PCB design and manufacturing processes, and provide input.
  • Monitor supplier performance, implement corrective actions, and identify and mitigate supply chain risks such as dependency on single sources.
  • Manage RFQs (Request for Quotation) and RFIs (Request for Information).
  • Analyze supplier spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and execute cost reduction initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrate behavior aligned with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in PCB fabrication; experience with PCB customer quality is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB design and manufacturing processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical) preferred.
  • Knowledge of new PCB processes and manufacturing technologies is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with PCB sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management is desired but not critical.
  • Knowledge of electronic components and materials.
