Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Packing House Manager to lead the daily operations of our produce packing facility. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of our fresh product repackaging process, while closely collaborating with the ASTRO Farm.

• Supervise and coordinate daily packing operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.
• Oversee the repackaging process of fresh produce sourced in bulk into retail-ready packaging.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to inspect product quality and ensure re-packed items meet ASTRO standards
• Work closely with the ASTRO Farm team to reduce COGS by optimizing in-house packing operations—enabling cost savings and improving profitability.
• Provide regular performance reports and propose process improvement strategies to upper management.
• Support expansion of packing operations as volume and product categories grow (e.g., meat, eggs, multiple pack sizes).
• Assist in operational planning and strategy development for packing house scalability and efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven experience in packing house operations, preferably within manufacturing or food processing environments (e.g., butchery).
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a fresh produce environment.
• Background in managing or supporting high-volume, complex packing or manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.
• Highly responsive, organized, and able to make fast, data-driven decisions.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills to manage day-to-day operations and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to identify cost-reduction opportunities and implement operational efficiencies.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
• In-depth understanding of packing house systems and operational flow, especially for fresh goods (fruits, vegetables, chilled products, etc.).
