Overview

Packaging Development Manager (Beauty/ Skincare Manufacturing) role based in Indonesia. Lead the local Packaging Team (engineers and technicians) and serve as the main technical expert for packaging decisions across projects.

Responsibilities

• Create and lead the local Indonesia Packaging Team (engineers and technicians).
• Establish clear rules for how we develop and test packaging to ensure high quality.
• Oversee the entire packaging process for projects, ensuring packaging works well, costs are controlled, is environmentally responsible, and ready for customers.
• Strengthen and align local testing methods (leak tests, stability, transport, etc.) with global company standards.
• Collaborate with other departments (R&D, Quality, Buying, Sales) to integrate packaging considerations into every project step.
• Act as the main technical expert for all packaging issues, providing timely advice and problem resolution.
• Work closely with packaging suppliers to improve quality, drive innovation, and ensure alignment with needs.
• Continuously identify and adopt new packaging technologies, eco-friendly options, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Provide technical reports and documentation to inform stakeholders and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Material Science, or a related technical field.
• At least 8 years in packaging development, ideally in the cosmetics/beauty industry.
• Proven success in building and upgrading a packaging function (team and processes).
• Expertise in packaging testing, compatibility checks, and troubleshooting complex issues.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials (plastic, glass, etc.) and their interaction with product.
• Awareness of packaging regulations (safety, labeling) and ability to work with the legal team to ensure compliance.
• Strong leadership history, including hiring, mentoring, and managing team performance.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
