Job summary

Octarine Perfume is seeking a Packaging Development Engineer to design, test, and refine packaging for both new and existing products. You will create dielines, drawings, and packaging layouts using Illustrator/CorelDRAW and coordinate with suppliers for samples and color matching.

The role requires a diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 1 year of packaging experience. You will evaluate designs via tests, maintain development reports, and support NPD packaging initiatives

Qualifications

Diploma (D3) or Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or a related field.
At least 1 year of experience in Packaging Development, Packaging Design, Packaging Drafting, or Technical Drawing.
Proficient in creating and interpreting technical drawings and packaging dielines.
Proficient in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or equivalent.
Experience with 3D design software such as ArtiosCAD, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar is an advantage.
Knowledge of packaging materials, including paper boxes, corrugated boxes, labels, and packaging accessories.
Understanding of printing processes, color matching, and packaging quality standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate effectively with internal teams and suppliers.
Willing to conduct packaging trials and development activities in the production area.

Responsibilities

Develop and improve packaging designs based on product requirements, functionality, aesthetics, and manufacturing processes.
Create and revise technical drawings, dielines, and packaging layouts using design software.
Evaluate packaging designs through fitting tests, assembly tests, and production trials, then analyze the results to implement design improvements.
Perform dimensional measurements, ensure packaging component compatibility, and prepare development reports.
Prepare and maintain packaging documentation, including specification sheets, technical drawings, and development reports.
Coordinate with suppliers regarding sample development, design revisions, color matching, and packaging improvements.
Review packaging artwork and evaluate color accuracy, design quality, and printed packaging against company standards.
Support Packaging Development activities for New Product Development (NPD) projects and continuous improvement of existing products.
