Our client is a leading environmental testing solutions company based in Jakarta, providing specialized services in environmental analysis and testing for a range of industries, including mining, oil and gas, power stations, cement, and manufacturing.
Job Description
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the environmental sector, with a particular focus on pollution-heavy industries.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, including HSE professionals, environmental compliance officers, and industry leaders in target sectors.
- Conduct cold calls, arrange meetings, and negotiate contracts to secure new clients.
- Understand the environmental and regulatory needs of clients to propose tailored testing solutions for compliance with local and international standards.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including lab-based and field-based staff, to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to stay ahead of potential opportunities.
- Work closely with the regional minerals manager to align business development strategies with overall company goals.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and business development KPIs.
The Successful Applicant
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in technical sales, with a proven track record in B2B sales, particularly in sectors related to environmental services or industrial markets. A background in HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) or technical fields like chemical engineering is highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of environmental testing, industrial hygiene, pollution control, and compliance standards is highly desirable. The ability to speak the technical language with clients is critical.
- Strong business development skills with a focus on hunting new business opportunities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong networking capabilities, ideally with contacts in HSE, environmental compliance, or related fields.
- Ability to understand and explain technical concepts to clients.
- Proactive, self-starter with a positive, results-driven attitude.
- Personal Attributes: Highly driven, ambitious, and results-oriented.
- Comfortable with cold calling, direct sales, and face-to-face client interaction.
- A "hunter" mentality with the ability to work independently and meet aggressive targets.
- Energetic, and quick to learn new industry trends and technologies.
- Background: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.
