OPERATIONS READINESS SR. ENGINEER MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE UPSTREAM

Responsible to oversee and manage the maintenance operations of key mechanical assets in the process plant. The role will focus on ensuring optimal performance and availability of equipment including the primary crusher, overland conveyor, pebble crushing circuit, vibrating screens, SAG mill, ball mill, large slurry pumps, cyclones, as well as associated lubrication and hydraulic systems.

Lead and manage maintenance activities for mechanical equipment, ensuring high availability and reliability.

Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Supervise troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment failures.

Manage shutdown planning and execution in collaboration with operations and other disciplines.

Oversee maintenance of critical systems such as lubrication and hydraulic circuits.

Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for technical support and spare parts.

Ensure asset integrity and adherence to mechanical design standards.

Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment history.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance practices and cost efficiency.

Ensure compliance with site safety regulations, environmental standards, and statutory requirements.

What skills and experience do you need?
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 - 10 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance engineering within mineral processing or mining operations of large upstream equipment, including at least 3-5 years as supervision in upstream (crushing, grinding, flotation) maintenance.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading root-cause analyses (RCA/FMEA) and implementing corrective/preventive actions with quantifiable downtime reduction.
  • Hands-on experience commissioning and ramping-up new concentrator circuits or major retrofit projects (greenfield or brownfield); Proven experience managing maintenance teams in large-scale processing plants; Demonstrated success in optimizing equipment performance and extending asset life.
  • Understanding of failure analysis and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles; In-depth understanding of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), predictive-maintenance (PdM) technologies (vibration, oil analysis, thermography) and CMMS best practices; Expert knowledge of upstream processing equipment, especially SAG & ball mills, crushers (gyratory, cone), flotation cells—and their ancillary systems (cyclones, screens); In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems related to crushing, grinding, and material handling in mineral processing.
  • Proven experience with the design, operation and troubleshooting of conveyors (belt, apron), slurry and dewatering pumps, piping networks and associated valves/instrumentation in copper–gold concentrators; Familiarity with comminution circuit optimization, mill liners, SAG lifter design and ball-charge management to maximize throughput and energy efficiency; Strong expertise in rotating equipment: mills, pumps, conveyors, and screening systems; Competent in hydraulic and lubrication system design, diagnostics, and maintenance.
  • Familiar with condition monitoring tools and techniques (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis); Proficient in using maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle EAM, or similar); Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and OEM documentation
  • Certified formal training in RCA, FMEA, RCM methodologies, advanced CMMS/utilization analytics and comminution circuit optimization. CMMS with SAP Training (preferred); Professional Engineering License or Certification (preferred); Additional certifications in reliability engineering, maintenance planning, or asset management are a plus.
  • Has frontline level operational inspector certificate (POP) or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of position;
  • Strong leadership and organizational, scheduling & time management skills; Ability to work both independently and as a team player and thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment; Ability to communicate well, and work productively with internal and external; A commitment to safety and a desire to maintain our Indonesian mining operations to world class international safety standards;
  • Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate; Good in Presentation & Reporting.
