Job description

Operational assistant manager for wellness centre in Ubud

Executive operations assistant/manager for a developing wellness centre and school in Ubud. Our school has been training holistic therapists for several years online and offline. We are now building our first physical centre.

This is a senior management position which will evolve into running the centre and staff for the right applicant.

As construction of this project is in progress, the position will begin on a part-time basis, working on general administration of the school, and progress to full-time once the centre opens.

Salary depends on the candidate and is agreed by discussion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Checking emails for the school, drafting responses, organising files and general administration

Communication with Indonesian companies and translation

Book keeping (accounting)

Researching materials for the centre (e.g. yoga mats, solar panels, kitchen equipment, interior design from curtains and bedding to taps)

Creating local and international accounts for organic food ordering

Creating a staff rota system and managing the staff rota

Excellent bookkeeping and basic accountancy skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft word, excel

Keeping files and data well organised on DropBox

QUALIFICATIONS ARE IMPORTANT BUT NOT AS IMPORTANT AS EXPERIENCE AND ATTITUDE:

Bachelor’s degree in Management, Accountancy, or a related field is preferred

Min 1yr of working in an administrative or office management role (restaurant, hotel, health and wellness centre)

Should be Balinese (and/or can speak basic Balinese) and fluent in Indonesian and English

Lives around Gianyar or approx 30 minutes to our office in Tampaksiring, North Ubud

Able to communicate in English (fluently, speaking and writing), Indonesian and Balinese

Considers themselves to be a kind and compassionate person

Has a desire to work in eco-tourism, health and wellness above the desire to work in a 5-star hotel

Treat all people as equals and sees the value that everyone brings

Is able to take on difficult decisions when needed and hold strong boundaries

Looking for a long-term work commitment

Ability to work with Apple Mac computers or is quick to learn

SKILLS:

• Strong organisational skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Doc, Excel, and Powerpoint), Dropbox, and other software (Apple Mac preferred)

• Knowledge of office Management Procedures and Human Resources

• Have a basic knowledge of Accounting and TAX (we have specialists to support)

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

• Detail-oriented and proactive

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills.

OTHER:

• Motor Vehicle License, preferably with own vehicle (preferred, not essential)

This role will start on a flexible part-time self-employed basis for the right applicant (with non-fixed hours to start). They will work as a personal assistant to the director.

Salary depends on the candidate and is agreed by discussion.

Preferred to start as self-employed on a trial basis, with the salary increasing.
