Job summary

Stedi Talent Solution is seeking a seasoned Heavy Logistics Director for our Indonesian client specializing in mining transport and material supply. You will lead heavy haulage operations, optimize fleet performance, and ensure safety compliance across sites.

Responsibilities include setting SOPs, deploying telematics, managing budgets, aligning with executive targets, and driving cost efficiencies while upholding HSE standards and regulatory requirements in Indonesia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Transportation/Logistics Management, or related field; MBA or Master's preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership in heavy haulage or mining operations, with at least 3-5 years at director or senior level.
• Hands-on experience with Fleet Management Systems (FMS), telematics data analysis, GPS tracking, and maintenance ERPs.
• In-depth knowledge of Indonesian heavy transport laws, OSHE standards, and site safety certifications (POP/POM/POU advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day heavy haulage operations, ensuring high availability, utilization, and fast turnaround times for heavy dump trucks, trailers, and loading equipment.
• Oversee site logistics, dispatching cycles, route planning, and haul road maintenance to minimize cycle times and bottlenecks.
• Drive fleet maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance schedules, spare parts inventory, and breakdown recovery to maximize MTBF.
• Establish SOPs for vehicle load limits, fuel management, tire wear optimization, and mechanical integrity.
• Implement fleet telematics, GPS tracking systems, and IoT monitoring tools to track driver performance, fuel burn, and vehicle diagnostics in real time.
• Lead improvements in workshop management, engineering workflows, and vendor management for heavy equipment parts and servicing.
• Partner with leadership to set operational targets, budgets, and long-term haulage strategies.
• Track KPIs like cost-per-ton, fuel burn, tire lifespans, and maintenance expenditure to cut costs.
• Enforce HSE standards, road safety protocols, and regulatory compliance across all sites.

The organization operates large-scale haulage operations, managing heavy equipment fleets, haul roads, and complex logistics networks to transport bulk materials reliably across high-volume corridors.

Key Responsibilities

Heavy Equipment Fleet Operations

• Direct day-to-day heavy haulage operations, ensuring high availability, utilization, and fast turnaround times for heavy dump trucks, trailers, and loading equipment.
• Oversee site logistics, dispatching cycles, route planning, and haul road maintenance to minimize cycle times and eliminate operational bottlenecks.
• Drive fleet maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance schedules, spare parts inventory, and breakdown recovery to maximize mean time between failures (MTBF).

Technical & Operational Leadership

• Establish technical standard operating procedures (SOPs) for vehicle load limits, fuel management, tire wear optimization, and overall mechanical integrity.
• Implement fleet telematics, GPS tracking systems, and IoT monitoring tools to track driver performance, fuel burn, and vehicle diagnostics in real time.
• Lead structural improvements in workshop management, mechanical engineering workflows, and vendor management for heavy equipment parts and servicing.

Strategic Execution & Cost Management

• Partner with executive leadership to establish operational targets, site-level budgets, and long-term haulage strategies.
• Optimize operational costs by tracking key performance indicators including cost-per-ton, fuel burn rates, tire lifespans, and fleet maintenance expenditure.
• Enforce strict HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards, road safety protocols, and regulatory compliance across all site facilities and haul routes.

Technical Requirements & Qualifications

• Haulage & Mining Logistics Focus: Deep technical knowledge of heavy transportation, hauling cycle optimization, haul road condition monitoring, and heavy equipment maintenance (Scania, Volvo, Caterpillar, Komatsu, or equivalent).
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in heavy haulage, mining operations, or heavy logistics, with at least 3-5 years at a Director or senior operational level.
• Technical Systems: Hands-on experience with Fleet Management Systems (FMS), telematics data analysis, GPS tracking, and maintenance ERPs.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Transportation/Logistics Management, or related field; MBA or Master's preferred.
• Regulatory & Safety Compliance: In-depth knowledge of Indonesian heavy transport laws, OSHE standards, and site safety certifications (e.g., POP/POM/POU certifications are a strong advantage).
