Inspecting Structures for Safety Hazards

Inspecting structures to identify any possible safety hazards that may exist in the materials without causing damage to them.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
2. Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
3. Provide guidance and supervision to trainees and Level I personnel.
4. Develop work instructions from approved general procedures, with final approval by a Level III.
5. Document test results and create reports for customer requirements.
6. Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining records and managing inventory.
7. Adhere to all safety rules and ensure workers use required protective equipment.
8. Keep the assigned area clean and organized.
9. Follow all procedures within the company security policy.

Management & Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct supervisor titles typically include Quality Engineer IV & NDT Inspector Level III.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge Requirements

• Knowledge of processing parts, documenting results, and performing equipment standardization per approved work instructions.
• Knowledge of preparing parts before or after inspection per approved work instructions.
• Knowledge of conducting system performance checks per process standards.
• Knowledge of end-to-end Penetrant Inspection, Magnetic Inspection, and Etch Inspection.
• Knowledge of NDT technology & defectology.
• Knowledge of NAS 410 or ASNT SNT-TC 1A standards.
• Knowledge of materials and processes for NDT technology.
• Knowledge of Foreign Object Damage (FOD).
• Knowledge of measuring tools and calibration procedures.

Education & Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least 1 year of experience.
• Or a combination of education, experience, and/or training.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all required certifications.
