Job summary

Kinderglory Montessori School in Manado seeks a caring Montessori Elementary Teacher to guide children aged 6–12 within Sulawesi’s first AMI-based Elementary programme. You will work with our Academic Directress, Learning Coordinator, and Elementary team, with ongoing mentoring to support your Montessori practice.

The role requires presenting lessons across the AMI curriculum, observing progress, and aligning learning with Indonesian requirements while preserving Montessori principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• AMI Elementary Diploma or Montessori Elementary training highly regarded.
• Experience with children aged 6–12 preferred.
• Strong English and Bahasa Indonesia, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Present lessons based on the AMI Montessori Elementary curriculum.
• Guide children in Mathematics, Language, Geometry, Biology, Geography, History, and Cosmic Education.
• Use stories and key lessons to inspire curiosity and independent exploration.
• Observe each child and plan appropriate lessons and follow-up work.
• Protect the uninterrupted work cycle and guide independent and collaborative work.
• Support concentration, responsibility, and respectful behaviour.
• Maintain an orderly Montessori environment.
• Monitor progress through observation, records, and team discussions.
• Prepare weekly plans, lesson records, digital portfolios, and student reports.
• Align Montessori learning with Indonesian national curriculum requirements.
• Communicate professionally with parents and participate in meetings and training.

Job description

We are seeking a caring, responsible, and enthusiastic Montessori Elementary Teacher to join Sulawesi’s first authentic, AMI-based Montessori Elementary programme.

Montessori is the foundation of our Elementary programme—not simply an additional teaching method. Our mixed-age classroom follows the AMI approach and curriculum through Cosmic Education, key lessons, hands‑on materials, individualised presentations, purposeful observation, and uninterrupted work cycles.

You will guide children aged 6–12 in developing curiosity, independence, responsibility, and a genuine love of learning. You will work closely with our Academic Directress, Learning Coordinator, and Elementary team, with ongoing mentoring to support your Montessori practice.

Key responsibilities

• Present individual, small-group, and group lessons based on the AMI Montessori Elementary curriculum.
• Guide children in Mathematics, Language, Geometry, Biology, Geography, History, and Cosmic Education.
• Use the Great Stories and key lessons to inspire curiosity, imagination, and independent exploration.
• Observe each child and plan appropriate lessons and follow-up work based on their readiness and developmental needs.
• Protect the uninterrupted work cycle and guide purposeful, independent, and collaborative work.
• Support children’s concentration, responsibility, self‑discipline, time management, and respectful behaviour.
• Prepare and maintain an orderly, attractive, and complete Montessori environment.
• Monitor progress through systematic observation, record‑keeping, and team discussions.
• Prepare weekly plans, lesson records, digital portfolios, and student reports.
• Align Montessori learning with Indonesian national curriculum requirements while preserving the integrity of the Montessori approach.
• Communicate professionally with parents and collaborate in meetings, training, curriculum planning, and school events.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Elementary Education, or a relevant field.
• An AMI Elementary Diploma or Montessori Elementary training is highly regarded.
• Applicants without formal Montessori training may be considered if they demonstrate a strong commitment to AMI Montessori practice, training, and mentoring.
• Experience working with children aged 6–12 is preferred.
• Good spoken and written English and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Able to prepare clear plans, observation records, and student reports.
• Patient, observant, organised, reflective, and collaborative.
• Open to feedback, mentoring, classroom observation, and continuous professional development.
• Passionate about authentic Montessori education, Cosmic Education, and respectful guidance.
