Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize sample analysis methods to achieve high accuracy and precision, including organizing proficiency tests with accredited external laboratories and reporting the results in technical reports.
- Maintain all laboratory equipment in good condition, perform repairs as needed, verify equipment standards, and follow up on verification results that fall outside acceptable ranges. Manage chemical and spare part inventory, prepare purchase requisitions, and conduct technical evaluations during procurement.
- Create, maintain, and control analysis data reports in the SAP system for in-process and finished products.
- Prepare technical and monthly reports related to special projects, analysis method development, and data sharing with relevant sections or internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with production units such as Cracker Plant, Butadiene, B1MTBE, Utility, Offsite Marine, and Production Planning, as well as the Commercial division, for raw material analysis before unloading and product analysis before loading onto ships or lorries, including sampling and quality certification.
- Ensure implementation of systems related to Security, Safety, Quality, Energy, Environment, and Laboratory Management (ISO 17025).
- Review verification analysis results and follow up on any deviations beyond acceptable criteria.
- Conduct safety and housekeeping activities in accordance with SMK3 management system. Support related sections or departments in plant improvements and efficiency initiatives.
- Monitor, supervise, and evaluate laboratory testing activities to ensure compliance with Laboratory Quality Management System (LQMS).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of laboratory experience in a petrochemical or oil and gas company.
- Proficient in troubleshooting various analytical instruments such as Gas Chromatography, ICP, UV-Vis, TN/TS/TCL Analyzers, Hg Analyzer, Auto Density Meter, Karl Fischer Moisture Meter, Flash Point Tester, etc.
- Capable of performing complex analyses for non-routine samples, developing testing methods, and training laboratory technicians on new instruments or methods.
- Familiar with ISO 17025 standards to ensure laboratory operations meet international quality and competence benchmarks.
This is a permanent position with a 3-month probationary period, based at the site in Cilegon.
