Job summary

Alcon is seeking an Associate II, Molding & Tooling Engineering, to support mold tooling and injection molding process development. You will assist defect analysis, tooling optimization, and process troubleshooting to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Daily tasks include executing pin proofing, investigating molding issues, maintaining a clean, safe workspace, supporting projects and validations, and contributing to process characterization and SOP reviews to ensure compliant production.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in molding or tooling.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (mechanical/chemical preferred).
• Good written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of MiniTab or Power BI is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Execute Pin Proofing activities for Optic Pins. Setup systems to manage the tooling, pins, associated molding equipment performance, and replacement frequency.
• Perform investigations related to Molding process and implement various CAPAs related to molding area.
• Maintain molding area in clean & orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Support engineering projects (improvement/transfer/equipment) and validation of molding area to ensure timely completion within schedule, cost and in compliance of all standards.
• Provide process improvement & re-engineering for product yield & quality improvement.
• Carry out engineering studies, perform statistical analysis as needed, to maintain an efficient production process and system, to support product yield improvement and product quality improvement.
• Provide and/or review technical specifications and SOPs necessary for production processes.
• Carry out change request and evaluate effects of changes to validated processes.
• Support/work very closely with material science, packaging engineering, automation & controls engineering, metrology/calibration and validation engineering.
• To perform any other duty that may be assigned by immediate superior from time to time
• Observe & Ensure full compliance with Alcon Information Security Policy, Cooperate citizenship policy & code of conduct.
• Adhere to Alcon Safety & Environment Standards, Report to superior immediately if observe any near miss or any injury/ incident occurred at workplace.

This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes. The Associate II, Molding & Tooling Engineering (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for assisting in mold tooling and injection molding process development, supporting defect analysis, tooling optimization, and process troubleshooting.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• 1-2 years of experience in Molding and/or Tooling. Experience in either molding or tooling is acceptable.
• Level of English: Good communication skills; able to speak clearly and communicate effectively in both spoken and written English.
• Knowledge of MiniTab / Power BI is advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree is required. A degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or a related field) is preferred; however, candidates with a bachelor's degree in other disciplines with relevant experience are welcome to apply.
