Description

The Mining Operation Automation & Optimization Manager will be responsible for leading on-site digital transformation initiatives at the client's mining operations in Indonesia. This role will act as the key interface between the client's operational teams and the technology solution provider, ensuring the successful adoption of AI-driven tools and process optimization initiatives. Act as the primary on-site representative to align operational teams with digital transformation initiatives.

• Lead the implementation and integration of Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to enhance operational workflows and performance.
• Identify operational challenges and collaborate with teams to optimize digital tools for practical, real-world use.
• Monitor, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program success and value creation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with site leadership, frontline teams, and executives to drive engagement and change adoption.
• Conduct training, workshops, and coaching to support the effective use of new digital tools and technologies.
• Manage change processes, mitigate risks, and resolve issues to ensure smooth project execution.
• Coordinate closely with internal technical teams and external partners to align digital solutions with operational needs.
• Act as a communication bridge between operational teams and technology providers, translating business needs into technical requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement by ensuring digital initiatives deliver measurable results, identifying further optimization opportunities, and scaling successful solutions across operations.

Profile

To excel in this role, you will bring a strong combination of technical expertise, operational experience, and outstanding stakeholder management capabilities. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience within digital transformation, industrial operations, management consulting, or technology solution implementation. Ideally within complex, asset-heavy industries.
• Prior exposure to mining, heavy industry, or large-scale manufacturing environments is highly desirable, with a clear understanding of operational dynamics, field challenges, and safety standards in these sectors.
• Demonstrated track record of leading on-site transformation initiatives, particularly in operational environments, driving change management, technology adoption, and sustainable performance improvements.
• Solid technical knowledge and practical understanding of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, data analytics, and process optimization tools applied within industrial operations.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, engage, and build trust across a diverse range of stakeholders, from C-level executives and senior management to site-level leaders and frontline operational teams.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, coupled with the ability to bridge the gap between technical solutions and business/operational needs.
• Proven experience in agile project delivery, change management frameworks, and leading digital transformation programs within complex organizational structures.
• High level of adaptability, resilience, and hands-on approach, with a readiness to be based on-site at mining locations in Indonesia for extended durations as required by project needs.
