Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our client's team in Jakarta. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data infrastructure and systems to enable efficient data processing and analysis. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making and ensure the availability, integrity, and security of data assets.

Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with data architects, data scientists, and analysts to understand data requirements and develop scalable data solutions.
  2. Design and develop data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration workflows to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
  3. Build and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and data marts to support data analysis and reporting.
  4. Ensure data quality and integrity through data validation, cleansing, and profiling.
  5. Optimize and tune database queries and processes for performance and scalability.
  6. Implement and maintain data security and privacy measures in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and inconsistencies.
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data engineering technologies and practices.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 3-5 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably at a medior level.
  3. Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, best practices, and data management principles.
  4. Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  5. Experience with data integration tools and frameworks such as Apache Kafka or Apache Nifi.
  6. Strong programming skills in at least one language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  7. Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases.
  8. Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  9. Experience with data modeling and database design.
  10. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  11. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  12. Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
  13. Must be able to work on-site in Jakarta.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience with data orchestration and workflow management tools such as Apache Airflow or Luigi.
  2. Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, and metadata management.
  3. Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
  4. Understanding of machine learning and statistical analysis.
  5. Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in agile teams.
