Job summary

A leading international apparel buying company is seeking a Junior MD to assist in garment development processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in garment specifications, materials, and will contribute to the selection of fabrics and styling for customer proposals. This role requires at least 1 year of experience in the garment industry, excellent teamwork, and strong communication skills, with a preference for graduates from fashion-related schools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience for Junior MD, 5 years for MD, 6-10 years for Senior MD & Team Leader.
• Excellent knowledge of garments, fabrics, and accessories required.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in selecting styling and fabrics to propose to customers.
• Develop proto samples from development to production.
• Understand merchandiser workflow and create TNA plans.

Job description

Ability to read and understand the technical specifications mentioned in the tech pack.

Ability to read and understand the materials listed in the BOM (Bill of Material).

Assist the Supervisor/Manager in selecting styling and fabrics to propose to customers.

Understand the terms used in size charts (size specifications).

Understand the sample stages and basic requirements of each stage.

Develop proto samples as per buyer’s requirements, from development to production.

Understand the merchandiser workflow (Junior MD Level).

Understand the logic of the TNA provided by SM (for MD level).

Basic knowledge of costing structures (for MD level).

Ability to create a TNA (Time and Action) plan (for Senior MD).

Requirements:

Graduates from IGTC/Garment School are an advantage.

Minimum experience: 1 year for Junior MD, 5 years for MD, 6-10 years for Senior MD & Team Leader in the garment industry (factory or buyer agent).

Excellent knowledge of garments, fabrics, and accessories.

Product knowledge of Tops/Bottoms is essential.

Knowledge of Washed Products is an advantage.

Detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Team player with good command of written and spoken English.

Proficient in MS Office and computer literate.

Willing to work in South Jakarta.
