Role Description
This is an on-site role where the Mechatronics Engineer will work closely with the product and development teams to design, build, and test smart systems and devices that integrate mechanical components with electronics and software. The role combines elements of mechanical design, electronics, control systems, and embedded programming to create reliable and high-performance IoT solutions. A hands-on mindset, multidisciplinary knowledge, and strong problem-solving skills are essential.
Job Responsibilities
Design and develop integrated mechatronic systems, including mechanical structure, sensors, actuators, and control systems for IoT applications.
Prototype and build proof of concept, proof of technology, and proof of value for smart products. (source necessary materials, setup sensors/actuators, configure control logic and develop firmware, create basic 3D models, and conduct system testing).
Integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components into functional prototypes and support testing in real-world environments.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project specifications, compliance, and governance standards.
Document system architecture, design rationale, and test procedures for internal sharing and technical presentations.
Develop and conduct system performance and reliability tests; analyze and report findings.
Support and maintain system reliability, fault tolerance, and functional robustness across development iterations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Electromechanical, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering fields.
Strong interest in Industry 4.0 technologies, IoT systems, and the integration of hardware and software in real-world applications.
Practical experience or academic projects involving embedded systems, automation, robotics, or smart devices.
Proficient in C/C++, Python, or MATLAB for control systems and firmware development.
Familiarity with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex, ESP32, or similar), sensors, actuators, and signal conditioning.
Knowledge of hardware-software communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, MQTT, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
Experience with CAD or 3D modeling software is a plus (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
Analytical thinking and strong troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical domains.
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
