We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager, from Licensor Coordination and FEED to EPC provisional acceptance and care and custody transfer to operations. This role will transition to be the technical authority for operations and maintenance (O&M), handling engineering requests and troubleshooting once the plant is fully operational.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering.
- 15+ years in oil & gas/petrochemical, including 10+ years leading major projects.
- End-to-end experience from Pre-FEED to operations.
- Expertise in static & rotating equipment and lifecycle management.
- Strong grasp of international standards (API, ASME, ISO).
- Hands-on experience in construction, commissioning, and startup.
- Familiarity with maintenance systems (e.g., SAP) and reliability practices.
- Skilled in interfacing with Licensors, EPCs, and Operations.
- EPC tendering experience and a background in plant operations/maintenance are advantageous.
- Experience as a trainer or SME in mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with digital asset and condition monitoring tools.
Job Description:
- Develop and implement mechanical design standards and procedures.
- Lead Pre-FEED/FEED mechanical scope, embedding operational and value-focused practices.
- Coordinate with Licensors and contractors to ensure quality mechanical deliverables.
- Review and approve key documents (data sheets, layouts, specs).
- Oversee design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability assessments, and vendor evaluations.
- Monitor construction quality through inspections and testing.
- Support commissioning and startup, ensuring performance targets are met.
- Manage smooth transition to operations, including documentation and training.
- Provide post-startup engineering support for plant reliability.
- Lead, coach, and develop the mechanical engineering team, focusing on local talent.
