Job summary

Princeton Digital Group (PDG) invites applications for a Mechanical Engineer to join our technical operations team. You will ensure safe, reliable operation of mechanical systems in our data centers, manage day-to-day maintenance, and troubleshoot to keep cooling and environmental systems efficient.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering or operations.
  • Familiar with cooling systems, HVAC equipment and safety practices.
  • Experience with BMS and CMMS/DCIM systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain mechanical systems including chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, AHUs, pumps, and piping.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and company standards (HSE and mechanical codes).
  • Develop, review, and implement procedures for critical mechanical equipment.
  • Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to improve reliability.
  • Support change management; ensure mechanical changes are reviewed and closed.
  • Monitor capacity and energy efficiency using BMS/DCIM and support optimization.
  • Assist major maintenance like annual shutdowns and chiller overhauls.
  • Provide technical support to design for upcoming data centre projects.
  • Coordinate with teams, vendors, and contractors to resolve issues.
  • Contribute to training and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Support cost optimization and participate in PTW, MOS, and risk reviews.
  • Interface with multiple teams to promote standards for reliable services.
  • Proactively perform site facility improvements to increase asset reliability.

We Are Looking For

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work within a technical operations team to ensure the safe and reliable operation of mechanical systems in the data center. You will manage day-to-day operations, preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting to keep cooling and environmental systems running efficiently.

Working closely with the wider technical operations team, you will follow approved procedures, support incident response, and help drive improvements in system performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.

Your Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain mechanical systems including chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, AHUs, pumps, and associated piping systems in accordance with SOPs, EOPs, and MOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and company standards, including HSE and applicable mechanical codes.
  • Support the development, review, and implementation of operational procedures for critical mechanical equipment.
  • Take a lead in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to improve system reliability and uptime, related with assigned system.
  • Support change management activities, ensuring mechanical changes are properly reviewed, executed, and closed.
  • Monitor capacity, performance, and energy efficiency of mechanical systems using BMS/DCIM tools and support optimization initiatives.
  • Support major maintenance activities such as annual shutdowns, chiller overhauls, cooling system upgrades, and equipment replacement.
  • Provide technical support to the design for upcoming data centre project and design solutions, which add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency
  • Coordinate with operations teams, vendors, and contractors to resolve mechanical issues and support maintenance works.
  • Contribute to training, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the operations team.
  • Support cost optimization initiatives and participate in PTW, MOS, and Risk Assessment reviews.
  • Interface with operation, process, project construction, design solution engineering team, environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered operation team
  • Proactive to do site facility improvement to increase asset reliability
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering or operations, preferably within data centers or other critical facilities.
  • Familiar with cooling systems, HVAC equipment, and operational safety practices.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, BMS, and CMMS/DCIM systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
