About the role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mathematics & Chemistry Teacher to join the teaching staff at Globe Isl@mic School in Batam Kepulauan Riau. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in shaping the academic development and future success of our secondary school students. As a Mathematics & Chemistry Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in both subjects, fostering critical thinking skills, and inspiring a genuine love of learning in your students. This role is integral to our mission of providing excellent educational outcomes and preparing students for their academic futures.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Mathematics and Chemistry that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning needs
• Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods, maintaining accurate records of attainment and development
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, fosters curiosity and promotes academic excellence
• Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and progress
• Develop and utilise appropriate teaching resources and learning materials, including practical experiments and demonstrations where applicable
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery and share best practices across the department
• Supervise students during practical laboratory work in Chemistry, ensuring all health and safety protocols are adhered to
• Contribute to the wider school community through participation in staff meetings, professional development activities and school events
• Support students' personal and social development alongside their academic learning
• Maintain professional standards and keep up to date with developments in secondary education pedagogy and subject knowledge

What we're looking for

• A recognised teaching qualification or equivalent in Mathematics, Chemistry or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience teaching Mathematics and/or Chemistry at secondary school level
• Strong subject knowledge in both Mathematics and Chemistry with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and accessibly
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to maintain discipline whilst creating a supportive learning environment
• Proficiency in using technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
• The ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to school culture
• A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching, with the ability to differentiate instruction for learners of varying abilities
• Experience with curriculum planning, assessment and examination preparation is desirable
