Material Planner & Buyer Coordinator

Job Description

Your role:

  • Analyzes offers and performs comparison price analysis. Ensures a good competitive price, with a minimum of 2 quotations, and performs price analysis through price comparison. Online/market price should be targeted with a 10-12% increase unless exceptions are specified in the NON BOM Workflow.
  • Negotiates with suppliers, referencing online market prices when necessary, and nominates suppliers.
  • Monitors and controls costs, challenging work requests from users to confirm necessity.
  • Coordinates with the team to negotiate price reductions and follow-ups.
  • Ensures supplier compliance with requirements (aiming for 100% understanding of specifications to avoid wrong part supply).
  • Liaises with global procurement negotiations for certain thresholds.
  • Classifies suppliers into three categories based on purchase cycle time: critical (1 day or less), urgent (5-8 days), and normal (over 8 days).
  • Coordinates logistics with SCM to set up storage for equipment and tools purchased in bulk from China.
  • Works with factory operations to determine equipment and tools to acquire from China.

  • Have exposure to a manufacturing environment.

How We Work Together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence at the company’s facilities. Field roles are typically performed outside the main facilities, often at customer or supplier locations.
