Job summary

An agricultural firm seeks a dedicated individual to collect and maintain farmer databases, monitor planting and harvest activities, and conduct field projects in Indonesia. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Agriculture and at least 1 year of relevant experience. Strong communication skills and a valid driving license are required for this on-site position.

Qualifications

  • Have SIM C driving licence with a two-wheeler.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and maintain farmer database and field data.
  • Forecast crop sizes based on weather patterns.
  • Monitor crop progress district-wise.
  • Drive partnership projects and execute demo plots.
  • Support product functionalities with insights from the field.
  • Analyze local cultivation problems.
  • Conduct monthly plant growth surveys.
  • Inspect crop failures and provide recommendations.
  • Research on agriculture waste management and supply chain.

Job description
Purpose of Position:

Collect and maintain a farmer database, monitor planting and harvest wise in a district, and carry out projects on the ground to ensure the availability of valid and updated field condition data to support the company's business development

Key Accountabilities:
  • Collecting data and maintaining farmer databases such as farmer name, area, crops cultivated by meeting with the village head and village secretary to get data which is used to make season analysis.
  • Forecasting of Crop size district-wise for both regions EJ and SS, taking into account the pattern of weather, climate, and changing farmer crop preferences.
  • Monitoring of Crop progress - % of harvesting and % of planting district-wise.
  • Input demand forecasting – by product and by SKU and for every districtco
  • Driving and executing Partnership projects on the ground, including demo plots, Better life farming, and projects in partnership with banks for loans.
  • Supporting the product through insights from fields to improve the functionalities of the application.
  • Analysing cultivation problems in the local area, such as pest & disease attacks etc.
  • Plant growth survey on monthly basis, to arrive at harvest and peak harvest timing of each district /sub-districts, to collect data to make off-take planning
  • Inspection of cases by case crop failure, providing recommendations on how to collect jiva loan amounts.
  • Expanding close connection with input companies representatives, joint partners of their field trials, to reach out to farmers directly.
  • Research on agriculture waste management
  • Research on supply chain management (wet corn and dry corn)
  • Capturing on drying facility that’s available
Competencies:
  • Excellent communication Skills
  • Understanding of research methodology, primarily qualitative
Qualifications & experience:
  • S1 Agriculture (Agrotechnology, Agronomy, Soil Science, Pests and Diseases of Agribusiness Plants), S1 Agriculture Engineering (Agricultural Mechanisation, Food Technology Science)
  • Minimum 1-year experience in agriculture-related company (Food and Vegetables Crops, pesticides, seeds, fertilizers)
  • Understanding GAP
  • Have SIM C (Driving Licence) with Two Wheeler
