Job summary

Surbana Jurong is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer in Jakarta to lead design and analysis of civil marine structures. You will apply STAAD Pro and AutoCAD to deliver accurate calculations, drawings, and reviews, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and visiting sites as needed.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Ocean Engineering with a structural focus and 7+ years of related experience, preferably in marine structures, with strong English communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Ocean Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Strong proficiency in STAAD Pro for structural analysis and design.
• Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD for drafting and review of drawings.
• Solid understanding of fundamental structural engineering principles.
• Experience with marine structures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analysis and design using STAAD Pro and other engineering software.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, reports, and specifications.
• Create structural sketches in AutoCAD for drafter development.
• Review structural drawings prepared by drafter.
• Ensure designs comply with national and international codes and standards.
• Coordinate design efforts with other engineering disciplines.
• Participate in site visits for data collection and addressing construction queries.
• Review vendor submissions and shop drawings for structural integrity.
• Contribute to project proposals and technical documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers where possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analysis and design using engineering software, primarily STAAD Pro.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, technical reports, and specifications.
• Prepare structural sketches using AutoCAD to be developed by drafter.
• Review structural drawings prepared by drafter.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant national and international codes and standards.
• Collaborate and coordinate design efforts with other engineering disciplines.
• Participate in site visits for data collection, inspections, or addressing construction queries as needed.
• Review vendor submissions and shop drawings for structural integrity.
• Contribute to the development of project proposals and technical documentation.
• Potentially provide guidance or mentorship to junior engineers.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Ocean Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years (preferred in structural design of marine structures)
• Software Proficiency:
• Proven expertise in structural analysis and design software, particularly STAAD Pro.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting and reviewing drawings.
• Technical Skills:
• Solid understanding of fundamental structural engineering principles.
• Familiarity with common structural materials (steel, concrete, etc.).
• Ability to apply relevant design codes and standards effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Language Skills: good command of both written and spoken English.
