Job summary

Excelitas Technologies Corp. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our MedTech and Life Science operations in Batam. You will own and improve production processes, ensuring yield, quality, and process robustness across your line.

Responsibilities include leading SPC-based analysis, troubleshooting, qualification of equipment and processes, and driving Lean and Six Sigma projects with cross-functional teams to achieve manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in electronics/electrical/mechanical/industrial or related field.
  • Min 3 years in manufacturing; assembly/testing preferred.
  • Strong Six Sigma mindset; SPC and process capability knowledge.
  • Familiar with QC tools: 5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D.
  • Proficient English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive yield improvement in assigned production area.
  • Lead structured troubleshooting to root cause and CAPA.
  • Qualify new/relocated equipment, materials, or processes.
  • Analyze process data; prepare evaluation/qualification reports.
  • Create and maintain WI, SOP, FMEA, control plans.
  • Evaluate operators for process execution competency.
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma projects to reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects.
  • Support product quality investigations and CAPA.

Our Batam manufacturing site specializes in high-precision electronic and photonic products and supports global customers through world-class manufacturing and continuous operational excellence.

About the Role

We are presently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our MedTech and Life Science operations in Batam. In this role, you will develop, sustain, and improve production processes within your designated line, acting as the primary process owner responsible for yield, quality, and process robustness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and drive production yield improvement in your designated area using statistical techniques.
  • Lead structured troubleshooting of process-related issues to root cause and permanent corrective action.
  • Qualify new or relocated equipment, new materials, or new processes used in manufacturing.
  • Analyze process and product data and prepare comprehensive evaluation or qualification reports.
  • Create, implement, and maintain product and process documentation (e.g., WI, SOP, FMEA, control plans).
  • Evaluate and certify production operators to ensure competency in process execution.
  • Provide technical advice on material suitability, process compatibility, and product quality impact.
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects to eliminate waste and resolve chronic process issues, applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Equipment, Quality, Production, NPI) to support manufacturing and process-related projects.
  • Support product quality investigations and corrective/preventive actions related to process performance.
  • Comply with quality, environmental, health, and safety management system requirements within your area of responsibility.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering (Electronics/ Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Physics, or related field).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred in assembly and testing engineering role.
  • Strong six-sigma mindset with sound understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and process capability analysis.
  • Familiar with structured problem-solving tools (QC Tools, 5Whys, Fishbone, 8D).
  • Certified/trained Six Sigma Green Belt is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Proficient in English communication, both written and spoken.
