The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the overall accounting operations of the company. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and local regulations, preparing financial reports, and supervising the accounting team to support the company’s financial health and decision-making.
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Compliance & Auditing:
Ensure compliance with local tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
Reporting:
Prepare timely financial reports and present findings to management.
Support decision-making by providing financial insights and recommendations.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist in preparing company budgets and forecasts.
Monitor budget variances and provide analysis on deviations.
Cash Flow Management:
Oversee cash flow planning and ensure sufficient funds availability for operations.
Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
Team Supervision:
Lead and guide the accounting team, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to deadlines.
Conduct training and performance reviews for accounting staff.
Process Improvement:
Review and improve accounting systems and processes for greater accuracy and efficiency.
Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
