Job summary

Leighton Asia is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to oversee M&E supervision on data center projects. You will monitor progress against programme and costs, ensure safety and QA compliance, and coordinate with civil teams for maintenance and commissioning activities.

The ideal candidate holds a mechanical engineering degree with 13+ years total experience, including 5+ years in M&E supervision, and is ready to work onsite on project sites in Indonesia.

Requirements:

• Total relevant experience: 5++ years in M&E supervision in similar capacity
• Data Center experience is preferable
• Willing to be placed on project site and follow company rules

Key Requirements:

• Monitor progress against programme & cost against budget
• Promote and enforce a safe working environment
• Ensure works are compliant with the specifications and QA requirements
• Ensure team services & maintains equipment per the individual maintenance schedules and records are kept
• Co-ordinate with the civil side for planned & unplanned maintenance and repair works to minimise disruptions to the operations
• Implement changes to Services & equipment when necessary to improve performance and reliability without compromising safety or supplier warranties
• Directs and monitors assigned office or project startup and operations which may include review of design for plant operability, preparation of operations manuals, coordination with construction during field check out and pre-commissioning and testing and execution of the startup in the field.
• Provides input to project management, engineering, and construction to ensure startup requirements are incorporated into project activities, including review of project designs and construction to ensure plant operability and operating personnel safety.
• Coordinates, as directed, with project management, the startup related engineering, construction and client activities as an office assignment or during startup, operations, maintenance or testing at the jobsite.
• Walkdown systems and validate construction to commissioning turnover acceptance.
• Feedback lessons learned to construction and engineering.
• Have a strong understanding of technical issues and trends in the construction sectors, including specialist markets.
• Have detailed knowledge of the design process under client standards.
• Support the Project Manager to carry out the representativeness of the Company in front of the Client, in all commercial aspects when required.
• Provision of assurance that the testing and commissioning activities undertaken by Civil Works Joint Venture, Transit Systems and third parties are in accordance with relevant standards, regulations and industry best practice.
• Oversee adherence to quality management system with respect to materials, equipment, etc. received from suppliers
• Monitor construction quality on an on-going basis; Take corrective action to address the same; Escalate major quality concerns to supervisor
• Train subordinates and team members on quality concepts; seek support from internal/external experts as and when required
• Ensure site planned and setup functional and in compliance with the relevant job specifications
• Method statements and all other relevant submissions are submitted timely and are approved by the client as and when required
• Equipment, material is procured, assembled and ready to use as and when required
• Co-ordination with permanent and temporary works designers to ensure constructability
