Job description

Shift 1 (United States of America)

Position Summary:

Our Batavia location is hiring Machine Assemblers. This position builds machines, equipment, and their subassemblies following the mechanical layout, general assembly layouts, and other written and verbal specifications.

Must be able to train on 1st shift 7a-3p for 90 days.

Work You'll Do:
  1. Read, comprehend, and interpret hydraulic & mechanical drawings.
  2. Set departmental standards in housekeeping, attendance, and teamwork by example.
  3. Perform all hydraulic/mechanical assembly operations.
  4. Communicate discrepancies or errors on prints, materials lists, etc.
  5. Work with minimal supervision.
  6. Operate overhead cranes and other equipment needed to move large machine parts or complete the job.
  7. Recognize problems during assembly and take appropriate corrective actions.
  8. Produce quality work within the expected time frame.
  9. Complete Lockout / Tag out training and follow all safety procedures.
  10. Work safely and responsibly, respecting the environment.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of hand tools.
  • Demonstrate leadership and participate in problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Adaptability to high stress, emergency situations, priority changes, or new tasks.
  • Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience or training, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Ability to recognize electrical design and parts issues and resolve them.
  • Suggest improvements for work area, products, and processes.
  • Experience with prototype work with minimal supervision.
