Job summary

I CAN READ Indonesia is seeking educators to teach English to children aged 2.5–17, both online and in-person at our Tangerang centre. You will deliver reading, writing, and speaking lessons using the I Can Read system, conduct student assessments, and maintain open communication with parents.

Qualifications include a degree or diploma in teaching-related fields, a C1 level, and a strong command of English. University students and fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Teach pre-reading skills using the I Can Read system.
• Teach reading and comprehension using the I Can Read system.
• Teach writing skills, including grammar, editing, and publishing.
• Develop oral presentation and communication skills.
• Help children develop social skills and positive classroom behaviour.
• Be prepared to lead and manage centre events and projects.
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of students.
• Maintain regular communication with parents and document progress.

• Must have the ability of a C1 Advanced Qualifications

• The ability to work well with co-teachers and centre management.
• The ability to operate with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
• Teaching experience is highly preferable.
• University students working towards a degree/fresh grads are welcome to apply.
• Can teach online and offline classrooms.

Responsibilities:

• Working with children between the ages of 2.5-17 years old.
• Teaching pre-reading skills to children using the I Can Read system.
• Teaching reading and comprehension skills using the I Can Read system.
• Teaching writing skills, including grammar, editing and publishing.
• Teaching oral presentation and communication skills.
• Helping children develop social skills and positive classroom behaviour.
• Prepared to lead and manage centre events and projects.

2. Conduct Assessments:

• Teachers will conduct initial assessments for all incoming students.
• Teachers will regularly assess students during classes to monitor individual progress.

3. Communication:

• Teachers will maintain regular open communication with parents, through informal meetings, formal meetings, progresses and term reports.
• Teachers will keep attendance logs for all classes taught and update centre management when a student is ready for promotion.
• Teachers will complete the parents' communication book each week.
• Teachers will attend regular learning centre team meetings.

4. Contribute to Student Growth and Retention:

• Increasing sign-ups - achieved through maximizing the assessment process.
• Minimizing withdrawals - achieved through maximizing the teaching process.
