Job summary

PT Paesa Pasindo Engineering seeks a Legal Specialist to lead contract drafting, review, and negotiation across construction, manufacturing, and renewable energy projects. You will ensure regulatory compliance, manage licenses, and coordinate with external counsel for complex disputes.

You will provide legal risk assessments, conduct research on new regulations, and prepare documentation to safeguard the company's interests while communicating clearly with management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law from a reputable university.
• 3–5 years of experience as in-house legal counsel or at a law firm.
• Experience in Construction, Renewable Energy, or Manufacturing preferred.
• Advocate license (PERADI) and PKPA completion is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate client contracts (construction, hotmix sales, equipment rental) and vendor/subcontractor agreements in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
• Ensure contract clauses align with risk management standards and protect the company's legal interests.
• Ensure company-wide compliance with Construction Services, Electricity, Environmental, Labor, and Trade/Consumer Protection laws.
• Manage and monitor licenses (NIB, Construction Services License, PLTMH Operating License, Environmental License) via OSS and relevant ministries.
• Identify legal risks, provide mitigation recommendations, and handle notices or simple claims; prepare documentation for disputes/litigation.
• Coordinate with external Corporate Lawyer for escalations, opinions, and complex matters; conduct legal research for new regulations.

Job description

This is a Legal Specialist position serving multiple industries including Construction, Manufacturing, and Renewable Energy. You will be responsible for contract drafting and negotiation, regulatory compliance, licensing management, risk identification, and serving as the primary legal liaison for the organization.

Key responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, including client contracts (construction, hotmix sales, equipment rental), vendor/subcontractor agreements (procurement, subcontracting), and partnership agreements (joint operations/KSO, NDAs)

Ensure all contract clauses align with the company's risk management standards and adequately protect the company's legal interests

Ensure company-wide compliance with regulations across Construction Services, Electricity (particularly PLTMH and renewable energy), Environmental (AMDAL/UKL-UPL), Labor, and Trade/Consumer Protection laws

Manage and monitor the validity of all business licenses (NIB, Construction Services License, PLTMH Operating License, Environmental License) through the OSS system and relevant ministries/agencies

Identify potential legal risks across business activities, provide mitigation recommendations, handle incoming legal notices or simple claims, and prepare documentation for complex dispute/litigation matters

Serve as the primary point of contact and coordinate closely with external Corporate Lawyer for escalations, legal opinion requests, and complex litigation/non-litigation matters

Conduct legal research to advise management on new regulations impacting the business, and maintain organized and structured legal/corporate documentation (Articles of Association, Ministry of Law approvals, licenses, contracts, etc.)

About you

Bachelor's degree in Law (S.H.) from a reputable university

Minimum 3-5 years of experience as in-house legal counsel or as an associate at a law firm

Experience in Construction Services, Renewable Energy, or Manufacturing/Heavy Equipment industries is strongly preferred

Excellent contract drafting, review, and negotiation abilities; strong understanding of Civil Law (particularly Contract Law) and Corporate Law (UUPT)

Good understanding of Construction, Electricity, and Environmental regulations; familiarity with business licensing procedures (OSS); Ability to conduct independent and comprehensive legal research

High attention to detail with the ability to identify risks in contract clauses and regulations

High integrity and strong adherence to compliance principles

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues in accessible language for non-legal management; proactive problem-solver who identifies issues independently

Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines

Completion of Advocate Professional Education (PKPA); Active advocate license (PERADI); Specific experience handling PLTMH contracts or Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) is strongly preferred
