Job Description

  • Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of corporate matters, including M&A, joint ventures, investment projects, and other strategic transactions.
  • Oversee legal operations across subsidiaries to ensure compliance with national and international laws and regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, partnership contracts, and corporate documents.
  • Support the business in managing legal risks, disputes, and regulatory issues.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including operations, finance, and sustainability to support business initiatives.
  • Act as a key liaison for external counsel and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor legal developments and proactively advise the business on potential implications and required actions.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Legal Manager (Plantations) should have:

  • A degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum 8 years of legal experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house exposure in a regulated industry (plantation, natural resources, energy, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of Indonesian corporate law, plantation/agriculture regulations, and cross-border transactions.
  • Proven experience in handling high-value corporate actions and strategic projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and influence at all levels.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); experience working in a multinational environment is highly desirable.
  • Proactive, business-minded, and capable of providing clear, practical legal advice in a dynamic environment.
