Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law with Indonesian Bar admission or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law.
• Experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and commercial transactions.
• Strong knowledge of Indonesian corporate and employment law and regulatory compliance.
• Experience providing legal counsel to senior management and boards of directors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in Indonesian and English.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Manager to join our team in East Jakarta. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role within our organisation. As Legal Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters affecting the company, providing expert guidance on corporate and commercial law issues, and ensuring that PT STAR MAJU SENTOSA operates in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role is integral to protecting the company's interests and supporting business objectives through sound legal counsel and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal advice and support on corporate and commercial matters, including contracts, agreements, and commercial transactions
• Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents and commercial agreements to protect the company's interests
• Oversee legal compliance matters and ensure adherence to relevant Indonesian laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel and coordinate external legal support as required
• Develop and maintain legal policies, procedures, and documentation systems for the organisation
• Advise senior management and the board on legal risks, regulatory requirements, and strategic legal implications
• Handle employment law matters, including employment contracts, staff policies, and personnel-related legal issues
• Monitor changes in legislation and regulations that may impact the company's operations
• Support merger, acquisition, and corporate restructuring activities as needed
• Maintain legal records and ensure proper documentation and filing of all legal matters
• Maintain company licensing align with government rules

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized institution, with admission to the Indonesian Bar or equivalent legal qualification
• Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law
• Substantial experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and commercial transactions
• Strong knowledge of Indonesian corporate law, employment law, and regulatory compliance
• Proven experience in providing legal counsel to senior management and boards of directors
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Indonesian and English
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Professional with excellent interpersonal and relationship-management skills
• Experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, or investment matters is highly desirable
• Familiarity with legal compliance frameworks and risk management practices is preferred
