Job description

We are seeking an experienced Legal Manager to join our dynamic team at PT. Sumber Energi Surya Nusantara in Jakarta. SESNA Group was established with a passion to contribute to Indonesia’s renewable energy sector, focusing on Solar Project Development & Independent Power Producer (IPP).

What you'll be doing
  1. Providing legal support to ensure the development of renewable energy projects complies with applicable laws, including:
  • Advising on and preparing documentation for permit applications;
  • Drafting cooperation agreements with project partners;
  • Reviewing and negotiating EPC agreements, operational lease agreements, financing agreements, and PPAs.
  • Advising on operational issues of existing projects, engaging with vendors and government authorities to mitigate risks, and reviewing routine project subcontracts.
  • Monitoring compliance of project companies with lenders’ and financiers’ requirements, including KYC processes and documentation submissions.
  • Providing legal advice on land acquisition involving various land categories and preparing acquisition documentation.
  • Overseeing corporate compliance, including shareholder resolutions and AGMS documentation.
  • Advising on carbon credit transactions and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Participating in the restructuring of group company shareholdings and acquisitions in renewable energy and biomass sectors.
  • Supporting legal due diligence and risk assessments for project financing and M&A transactions.
  • Implementing and monitoring governance frameworks, policies, and controls to ensure legal and ethical compliance, and promoting corporate governance best practices.
  • What we're looking for
    • Bachelor of Law from a reputable university;
    • At least 4-5 years of experience in the energy sector (preferred);
    • Fluent in English, both oral and written;
    • Excellent communication skills;
    • Good understanding of construction processes, operational leases, and PPAs;
    • Ability to identify complex legal issues;
    • Experience in licensing electric power plants/installations;
    • Good understanding of contracts and agreements.
