Lead - QA Civil

Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara is an Indonesian mining company which operates the copper and gold mining and has a long-term expected mine life followed by processing stockpiles.

To support our Quality Project team, we are looking for highly motivated and experienced professionals to fill the following position:

LEAD – QA CIVIL

(National - Site Based)

Some of your duties will include:

• The Lead – QA Civil is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality assurance of all civil engineering works related to expansion projects and operations maintenance activities at the mine site. This role ensures compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices while maintaining strict quality control over construction and maintenance activities.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance:
• Develop, implement, and oversee QA programs for all civil works, including earthworks, foundations, concrete structures, roads, and drainage systems.
• Ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory quality standards (ISO 9001, ASTM, ACI, BS, etc.).
• Conduct regular quality audits, inspections, and reviews to verify adherence to approved specifications and procedures.
• Lead and coordinate third-party inspections and testing for civil materials and structures.
• Construction & Maintenance Oversight:
• Monitor civil construction and maintenance activities across site-wide projects, ensuring compliance with engineering designs and quality plans.
• Review and approve method statements, ITPs (Inspection Test Plans), and material specifications for civil works.
• Identify and resolve quality-related issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions as required.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain and update QA documentation, including non-conformance reports (NCRs), quality inspection records, and test results.
• Provide detailed quality reports to project stakeholders and management.
• Ensure proper document control and traceability of civil construction materials and workmanship.
• Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to enforce quality standards.
• Supervise and mentor QA/QC civil inspectors, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Lead QA-related meetings, technical discussions, and workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
• Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance:
• Ensure all QA processes align with HSE regulations and company safety policies.
• Identify risks and support implementation of safety measures to prevent quality-related incidents.

What skills and experience do you need?

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage teams effectively; Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities; Good communication skills for reporting and coordination with multidisciplinary teams; Strong stakeholder management; Have financial and commercial knowledge; Strong understanding and application of risk management principles.
• Minimum 5 years working as Lead/Superintendent QA Civil with a minimum 12 – 15 years of experience in civil quality assurance in large-scale mining, heavy industrial, or infrastructure projects in both construction and maintenance activities; Strong background in QA/QC for earthworks, concrete, and structural steel is a must.
• Professional certification in QA/QC (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) is an advantage; In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and industry codes/standards (ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, BS, etc.); Proficiency in QA/QC tools, inspection techniques, and testing methodologies; Familiarity with project management processes, contract specifications, and technical drawings; Strong understanding of geotechnical and structural engineering principles.
• Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate; Familiarity with digital quality management tools and software.
