Job summary

PT Corindo Amagi Putra in Surabaya is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef Pastry to support the Head Pastry Chef in planning, preparing, and producing pastries, baked goods, and desserts for CAP Group outlets, ensuring top quality and consistent presentation. This on-site role requires strong baking skills and leadership in a fast-paced kitchen.

You will oversee daily pastry operations, maintain hygiene standards, assist in menu development, manage ingredient orders, and train kitchen staff.

Qualifications

• Strong baking and bakery skills with hands-on pastry, breads, and desserts.
• Proficiency in food preparation and cooking techniques in a professional kitchen.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen best practices.
• Experience in a pastry or bakery environment, preferably in restaurants, cafés, or hotels.
• Ability to lead, coach, and motivate kitchen team members and communicate effectively.
• Attention to detail in taste, texture, and presentation, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced setting.
• Formal culinary or pastry education/certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, preparing, and producing a variety of pastries, baked goods, and desserts.
• Supervise daily pastry and bakery operations and ensure high presentation standards.
• Oversee food preparation, baking processes, and hygiene compliance.
• Assist in menu development, inventory and ordering of pastry ingredients.
• Train and guide kitchen team members and collaborate with other kitchen sections and front-of-house teams.
