Job summary

Datacenter People is seeking a Mechanical/ Thermal Engineering leader for mission-critical data center projects. You will define and maintain cooling plant requirements, manage chilled water distribution, and oversee HVAC and air treatment systems to meet performance and resilience targets.

You will coordinate with electrical, architectural, structural and controls teams, drive technical evaluations, and guide design maturity through project milestones while mitigating risks and ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in mission‑critical, industrial, energy, infrastructure or hyperscale data center projects.
• Deep expertise in data center cooling, chilled water production and distribution, HVAC and air treatment, thermal management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain technical requirements for cooling plants, chilled water systems, hydraulics, air treatment and thermal management.
• Translate project programs into practical, operational requirements and ensure alignment with performance, redundancy and resilience objectives.
• Lead technical evaluations, arbitrate design conflicts and support owner requirements and design standards.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with electrical, architectural, structural, controls and utilities; manage critical interfaces affecting cooling performance and project delivery.
• Validate design maturity against milestones; identify risks, gaps and unresolved issues and drive closure of comments and actions.
• Support permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning and operational readiness with thermal strategy alignment.
