Job summary

Cotecna is seeking a Laboratory Manager in Samarinda, Indonesia, to lead all lab operations and drive quality and compliance with ISO/IEC 17025. You will manage personnel, ensure equipment readiness, and coordinate with clients and accreditation bodies for regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes method development, continuous improvement, and operational readiness to support business growth. Bahasa Indonesia and English are required for effective communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in laboratory operations, including supervisory or managerial experience.
• Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and laboratory quality management systems.
• Experience in laboratory development, commissioning, establishment, or improvement projects preferred.
• Coal and Mineral laboratory operations experience is an advantage.
• Good command of Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all laboratory operations to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely analytical services.
• Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory systems, procedures, and quality standards in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and company requirements.
• Manage laboratory personnel by providing supervision, technical guidance, competency development, and performance evaluation.
• Ensure laboratory equipment, facilities, and analytical methods are properly maintained, calibrated, and fit for operational use.
• Monitor laboratory performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective and preventive actions where necessary.
• Support laboratory establishment, expansion, and technical development, including method validation, workflow improvement, and operational readiness.
• Coordinate with clients, operational teams, accreditation bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective laboratory support and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare laboratory performance reports and provide technical recommendations to Management.
