Lab Assistant (Based at Genting Highlands)

To maintain the written SOPs of FSSC manual by performing in-house Microbiological, Physical, and assist Product Development activities.

Job Description:

1. Conduct microbiological testing of incoming raw materials, in-process, finished products, and shelf life tests for new product development, environmental testing like swab tests of equipment/personnel and air exposure according to QA Program.
2. Conduct microbiological tests for water sources and process water.
3. Prepare samples and coordinate with accredited outside laboratories for Certificates of Analysis when required.
4. Maintain and keep records of retained samples of all finished products and conduct shelf-life tests, both physical and microbiological.
5. Manage inventory of laboratory equipment, testing and measuring devices, reagents/chemicals, and glassware.
6. Maintain cleanliness of the laboratory and keep records of all inspections and testing reports, both external and internal.
7. Conduct validation reports related to microbiological procedures.
8. Review and update laboratory/testing procedures periodically.
9. Report daily accomplishments to Production/R&D Manager.
10. Perform any other tasks and assignments as directed by the Department head.

Job Requirements:

1. Diploma/Degree in Microbiology/Science or equivalent.
2. Understanding of food microbiology, food safety, quality management, GMP, and Halal standards.
3. Knowledge of handling QA and laboratory equipment, e.g., pH/ORP meters, incubators, autoclaves, etc.
4. Registered Food Analyst is preferred.
5. Familiarity with Food Safety, GMP, Preventive Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Sanitation.
6. Ability to prioritize and manage work effectively.
7. Willingness to work in Genting Highlands, Pahang.
