Qualifications

• Latar belakang pendidikan yang dibutuhkan: diploma setara SMA atau setara, serta pendidikan keahlian 2 tahun atau magang/pendidikan vokasi.
• Pengalaman minimum 1 tahun di posisi serupa dalam industri perhotelan.
• Keterampilan inti seperti kemampuan berbahasa Inggris lisan/tulisan dengan baik.

Responsibilities

• Membantu Sous Chef dan Executive Chef dalam operasional dapur.
• Mengawasi dan mengkoordinasikan tugas tim dapur.
• Menyiapkan dan memasak hidangan dengan standar tinggi serta menjaga kebersihan dapur.
• Berperan dalam perencanaan menu, manajemen persediaan, dan pemesanan bahan.
• Mengembangkan keterampilan kepemimpinan dapur dan manajemen tim.

About the job

Based Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, the Junior Sous Chef Bakery is responsible for assist senior chefs in food preparation and other related tasks . The Junior Sous Chef Bakery reports to the Executive Pastry Chef .

As Junior Sous Chef Bakery, you will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Daily Operational

• Assist the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in kitchen operations
• Supervise and coordinate tasks of kitchen staff
• Prepare and cook dishes to high standards
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and safety
• Assist in menu planning, inventory management, and ordering
• Support senior chefs in food preparation, presentation, and plating
• Develop skills and knowledge in kitchen management and leadership

2. Productivity

• Organize food production in a cost effective and hygienic manner
• Identify opportunities for reducing costs without affecting the level of service or product received by our guests
• Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency of the operation of the assigned workstation that will benefit our guests

3. Safe and Sound (HACCP)

• To ensure that the Fire Life Health Safety and Security company standards and HACCP Standards are maintained and carried out. They must be monitored regularly to assist in scoring 100% on the MOHG health and safety audit
• Control all efforts that our entire superior Safe and Sound codes are always in place

4. People

• Use the Colleague Handbook in understanding the consistent way of Communicating Rules & Regulation to our team
• Supervise and coordinate tasks of kitchen staff
• Develop skills and knowledge in food preparation and presentation

As Junior Sous Chef Bakery, weexpectfrom you:

Educational Background

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Two-year degree or Apprenticeship

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year experience in the same position (Junior Sous Chef Bakery), 2 years as Chef de Partie, 2 years as Demi Chef de Partie and 2 years as Commis de Cuisine preferably within the hospitality industry

Skills & Competencies

• Thorough knowledge of gastronomy
• Extensive knowledge of kitchen equipment
• Working knowledge of computers and basic software
• Ability to dictate responsibility, pay attention to detail, handle multiple tasks and show a high level of patience
• Possess a good written and verbal command of English Language
• Possess a pleasant and outgoing personality
• Passionate, creative and an excellent hand on trainer

Technical Proficiency

• Basic computers and software

Physical Requirements

• Stand/Walk 8 - 12 hours a day
