Job summary

ABS seeks an entry-level Surveyor I in Batam, Indonesia, to develop skills in examining vessels and marine structures for compliance with ABS rules and key safety and environmental standards. You’ll work under supervision and advance through practical surveying tasks during construction and post-construction phases.

Ideal candidates are recent graduates or those with up to five years’ experience, with strong English communication and willingness to grow within ABS’s safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor or diploma in engineering or physical science (minimum two years program).
• Marine or nautical background with relevant seagoing exposure preferred.
• Proficiency in English aligned with certification scope.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine surveys on vessels, platforms, or marine structures under supervision.
• Prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain survey files.
• Interact with clients to resolve issues within area of expertise.
