Job description

Lawter is a supplier to the graphics industry, adhesives, specialty coatings, aroma chemicals and the synthetic rubber industry. Lawter operates in more than 20 countries with 8 production centers and 5 technology centers.

For its headquarters in EMEA, Lawter is looking for a:

We are seeking aJunior IT Site Technicianto join our IT team. As an IT Technician, you will provide first line IT support to on-site and remote users in the EU region to resolve hardware, software and network related problems, ensuring the availability and protection of company assets and data. This position is also a member of the Global Service Desk team which provides 24h hands-on and remote support to all users globally.

Key Responsibilities:

You provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for servers, desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices and peripherals. This includes but is not limited to the following activities:

  • Correcting hardware and software problems with servers, desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices and peripherals; coordinating support with OEM vendors as needed
  • Managing returns on warranted parts and systems
  • Packaging and shipping hardware and replacement parts to remote users
  • Installing, supporting and troubleshooting approved desktop software, following the Company’s established security policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Creating and maintaining images for standard systems
  • Performing planned maintenance, moves, adds, changes and asset management (i.e. managing the asset database system and maintain data accuracy for hardware and software inventory)
  • Performing Patch Management following the Company’s established schedule
  • Troubleshoot and resolve networking issues to ensure client/server connectivity to the Corporate network
  • Support and assist users with VPN connectivity and escalate to network support team as needed
  • Ensure the timely and proper execution of other tasks and projects as instructed by IT management.
  • Provide support in a timely and professional manner and - if needed - escalate on behalf of the end user to the appropriate technical personnel (internal and external), aiming for minimal business disruption and maintaining a high level of end user satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and service requests and their resolution in the global service desk tool.
  • Communicate effectively with management, team members and end users.

Skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent experience required
  • CCNA certification is a plus
  • 2 years or more of related experience preferred. Ability to work independently and take ownership
  • Thorough knowledge of supported Microsoft Windows client/server operating systems
  • Experience with Active Directory administration and group policy
  • Thorough knowledge of installation, configuration, use and troubleshooting techniques of supported versions of Microsoft 365 applications
  • Working knowledge of implementing and supporting of VOIP phone system, Cisco Switches and Access Points
  • Solidtechnical, analytical, and team skills required
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with business users with varying computer abilities
  • Knowledge of the English language is required.
