JR-23198 Sales Support Engineer II (SEA)

As the Sales Support Engineer, you will be working with a team of Territory Managers and Key Account Managers in the SEA Region with specific focus on serving the authorized distributors & end customers in meeting their needs. You will namely be focusing on understanding the challenges, requirements and needs of the customers, either directly or working with the distributors, in the expertise area of filtration in relations to maintenance and Total Cost of Ownership, training and education them at the same time. In this process, you will be working to impart knowledge and prepare the most appropriate solutions for the customers. At the same time, you must possess business acumen, and technical knowledge/aptitude to support the internal team, distributors and end customers. A good knowledge of filtration and/or engine is a must. In summary, you are needed to educate the customers, advocate our solutions and support creation of business opportunities.

Reporting Structure

Report to Senior Manager, Sales, MSA SEA

Co-work with Territory Managers and Strategic Account Managers.

Supported by Marketing and Product Teams SE

Key Accountabilities

  1. Technically support Territory Managers and Key Accounts Managers to solve complex problems related to engine filtration and clean solutions in the field.
  2. Secure sales growth by formulating solutions/proposals to end customers to solve their complex filtration problems, both in air and liquid filtration.
  3. Effectively train and support distributors and end-users in product knowledge, applications to market Donaldson products/solutions.
  4. Implement and execute field service strategy to assist the region to achieve or exceed annual sales and profit goals.
  5. Support and focus on all Donaldson market initiatives, both existing and new.
  6. Troubleshoot at customers’ site to determine root causes and then to design and offer solutions to customers.
  7. Provide continuous feedback on industry trends happening at the end customer level.
  8. Evaluate and provide feedback on authorized distributors in areas of improvement to promote Donaldson and support our branding in the market.
  9. Conduct complex product trials on critical equipment to win customers’ confidence.
  10. Support customers with value-add activities, e.g., extend service interval, upgrade of air cleaner, additional fuel filtration, etc.
  11. Work with the product management team to develop new products to meet customers’ needs.

Education Qualification

Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Civil or Chemical Engineering, or its equivalent.

Prior training on mechanism of filtration and diesel engine.

Technical Competence & Skills

  1. Must be technically inclined with Product Engineering and Application Engineering experience in a related industry.
  2. Possess knowledge and experience in air & liquid engine filtration/Hydraulics/fluid power/biodiesel preferred.
  3. Equipped with working experience related to diesel engine heavy equipment in mining and/or construction market.
  4. Acquired hands-on knowledge and experience in customizing solutions to customers to solve specific maintenance/operations challenges.
  5. Demonstrates achievement of development and sales success.
  6. Strong sales aptitude with excellent communication and organization skills.
  7. Strong mechanical/technical aptitude, and the ability to learn new technologies through product-driven training programs.
  8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  9. Minimum 5 years of technical experience in heavy equipment, mechanical engineering and/or fuel, Lube industries.
  10. Minimum 3 years of field sales engineering experience in a relevant field.

Others (% of travel, language, etc)

  1. Effective written and verbal skills in English Language are mandatory.
  2. Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
